Jenny Gracie is a clear legal writing enthusiast!

And being a lawyer, Jenny helps the legal and business communities in France and England to improve their international communications.

Jenny uses her experience of 25 years in the legal profession and now, as a translator, to:

–      give clear legal writing training to English and French lawyers:

–      rewrite French and English legal documents to make the content clearer without losing the legal meaning;

–      translate French and English legal documents (for example, contracts, websites, articles);

But Jenny does not give legal advice.

2008               Clear legal writing practitioner (rewriting and training).

2009-2012      Registered European Lawyer (REL) of the Lyon Barreau, France.

2014               French court-appointed translator – ‘expert de justice près la Cour d’appel d’Amiens’.

Teaching experience

Subjects taught: clear legal writing techniques; legal system of England & Wales; English grammar & legal English.

2017 –             Visiting lecturer at ISIT (Institut Supérieur d’Interprétariat et de Traduction), Paris.

2008 –             Training students, solicitors, French avocats, judges and other professionals.

2008 – 2012    Visiting lecturer at the University of Lyon 3.

2010-2012      Member of the European Bars Federation (FBE) Commission “Future of the Profession”.
